1. Welfare Officers


WELFARE OFFICERS
Heddon United FC have two designated Welfare Officers who are always on hand to offer support to all Club Members.

Darren Kidger
Darren has been a club Welfare Officer for two years however has been involved with the Club since its inception in 2017 - first as a Parent, then as a Coach. Having had these two prior roles he is aware of what it is like standing on both touchlines during a football match.

Darren works as a Deputy Headteacher in a local primary school where he is a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead so has knowledge and understanding of safeguarding children legislation and where to seek additional support if needed.

Darren is keen to ensure that all Players at the Club can enjoy their football and that all stakeholders understand the FA Rules and Regulations and the Respect programme .

Ana Mitchell
Ana joined Heddon United FC in 2017 as a Team Manager to a junior squad, before taking up the role of Welfare Officer in 2020.

Ana has recently passed a degree qualification in Sports Coaching, and will be starting a masters level qualification in Social Working in September 2021. This knowledge will allow Ana to educate best-practice ways of working to Managers, Coaches and Officials within the Club.

Ana will also have the understanding of procedures and connections with organisations should an arising issue require escalation / further support.
